This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Rachel and Jason Hall at Guntersville State Park. Now, I will be honest with you. When I heard “outdoor wedding in Alabama, in July”, I was a teeny bit concerned. As it turned out, there was no need for worry. The temperature was a not bad at all, 85 degrees and the rain never came, while overcast skies made for great light.
The park had seen some damage from the Tornadoes in April, and a lot of trees were still down. Amazingly though, the lodge and chalets were in perfect shape and the whole setting was magnificent. Kelly has decided that we will be going back there soon for our next vacation! From the veranda overlooking the lake, from the ceremony to the lodge for the reception, you couldn’t ask for a better place to have a wedding.
I really loved the light in the chalet where everyone was getting ready. A good room with good windows can make a big impact on the quality of the images.
I saw this on a table in Jason’s chalet, and I thought it was just perfect. It does feel like you are becoming a grown-up for real when the wedding day arrives!
So this was something new to me. The flowers were all made of paper. Which at first you think, wait, what? But then you see it and it is amazing! These were from a company called One Happy Girl. Click the link to see more about it. They also did the hair bands for the girls. I really like the look and, of course. they are durable!
Rachel and Kim ride over to the lodge. I have never seen sisters this close. It was truly wonderful to be around a family that had so much love!
The ring bearer was quite hilarious!
See what I’m talking about! Great location!
The flower girl did NOT want to wait to get cake!
Thank you again to Rachel and Jason for having me as their photographer! There will be more images coming soon, and I will post an update when they are ready.
